Weekend

Ahhh, it's Saturday, and I am nestled comfortably on my day off. It is so nice to have the weekend off for once. I just realized that I've taken next weekend off as well (hoooraaay)... the B.F. (Best Friend... unfortunately, not boyfriend) Cat will be visiting from Boston, for a long, Labor Day weekend. We'll have a blast... I don't need to doubt this for one second. This weekend, I was supposed to go up to visit Cat in Boston, and we were supposed to go down to Provincetown to frolick with some gays (love 'em)... but, alas, those plans got postponed. Cat has started a new job. Congrats, C. You've escaped the depths of hell... now the only way to go is up. In any event, regardless of postponed plans or not, it was good to sleep in a little bit this Saturday. I spent the early afternoon, with the older sis, shopping for school clothes with my niece and her school chum. We also headed over to Chiles. I freakin' LOVE Chiles. Haven't been there in like 2 years... so it was good to chow down on a black bean burger with a side of broccoli. Anyway, since my sister is knocked up, she kept spilling sweet mustard sauce and what-not on her shirt and fatigue started wearing her down, she we headed home. The weather has been wicked cooperative this past week. Perfect! Notwithstanding the curtains of humidity... I think I will actually miss Summer. Seeing the mad rush of people at the mall, dragging their young behind them, to school shop made me realize that Fall (a very sexy season) is right around the corner. Some of these ruffians will be in school in a matter of days... soon I will hear the stomp-a-tromping of feet in the museum. I've actually missed seeing school groups parading through the building. On a couple of unrelated notes... My mother taped the Being Bobby Brown marathon for me, so I look forward to concluding my weekend-off with that. Despite the specrackular behaviour on the show, I'm actually glad to see Bobby Brown's comeback. Before he got lost in the shadows of substance abuse and Whitney's skinny frame, Bobby was bad. Don't Be Cruel was a great album. I may just have to buy it. Watching his reality show, I'm reminded of classics such as, Humping Around, My Prerogative, Roni, Every Little Step, and I Really Love You Girl... Speaking of classics, does anybody know what the hell has happened to Evelyn Champagne King??
