All is Quiet...

Well, all is quiet on the work front... when am I NOT working. The Director of Administration commented that I seem to always be working, and that I needed some time off... I told him that I hoped that he was taking tabs downstairs in that basement office of his. Geez... it's Sunday, it's beautiful and I would much rather be outside enjoying this Indian Summer. The trees look heavenly a beautiful, fiery orange-red. I love the colors that Fall produce. I need to be writing. Sometimes I get so lazy and uninspired. When I'm not working, I am tired or listening to music. I've become quiet the homebody as of late... no excuse not to write while I'm there. I really need to get on the ball with my book, for I've procrastinated long enough. I'm on a good start though. This upcoming January I will be attending the Sundance Film Festival. I cannot WAIT for that! I'm sure I'll have plenty to write about then. I'm definitely taking my journal. When I went to Sicily a year and a half ago, I wrote non-stop... especially on the plane. Sicily was simply breathtaking and I look forward to going back again. It was so difficult to leave. I felt sad once I returned to the States. Southern Itay gets a bad rap... it's beautiful and the people are passionate and hospitable. Aaaaanywaaay... I just finished reading this stellar book by Danzy Senna called, "Symptomatic." It was wicked! I highly recommend it. I tried to get through "The Polished Hoe" by Austin Clark but it was just too boring. I couldn't make it past the first chapter. I hate not completing a book, but you gotta give up at some point! It got rave reviews but then again, not all professional critics have good taste. I am now reading "Getting Mother's Body" by playwright, Suzan Lori Parks. It's hilarious. I love it! I am awaiting the arrival of Saul William's new CD. I love Saul. He is one of the most profound poets of this day and age. His books, his music... truly inspiring. A clever wordsmith, Saul. His previous CD "Amethyst Rockstar" was interesting. I heard samples of his latest, self-titled CD and I am stoked. Can't wait to get it! Well, nothing juicy to report I am afraid. I can report some juicy tidbits, but I have to keep some stuff private... tee hee. Anyway, I am trying hard to trudge through this beautiful day. I miss summer. I hope winter wont be too brutal... sigh...
